Excellent birthday diner exceptional food and service! Enjoyed the ambiance as well.
Enjoyed my final evening out in San Diego. My stuffed mushroom appetizer came out under cooked and had to be sent back. The next one came out cooked right but under seasoned. Unfortunately, I think they were pre-made from a box. Did not appear to be fresh. Disappointing. The main entree was superb. I had the parmesan wheel fettuccine al tartufo with sausage added. Delicious! Unfortunately, I did not get to see it being spun in the wheel. I sat at the bar so I could watch the basketball game, and the bartender (did not get his name) was fantastic. Drinks were on point and he was attentive when necessary. One thing though, there was a large party and the restaurant is not very big, so it was extremely loud in there. The group seemed to be enjoying themselves. Had a chat with the hostess on the way out and she was very witty! Nice location in the Gaslamp/East Village area. Walking distance to hotel as well. Would definitely recommend!
Literally just left the place and I had to write this this instant cause we honestly had the best experience, it's restaurant week and came upon this cute little Italian restaurant in downtown. Made the reservations for 5:30, already a few people and more started trickling in. Service was amazing our server was very tentative and made sure we were good our drinks are good and our food came in time. Really amazing service, authentic Italian was also spoken felt like I was just transform into a small town in Italy. Interior was simple but very chick and cute. Now let's get to the good part...drinks amazing! Great pour very tasty and flavorful. My husband and I tried the calamari it was very fresh and with a squeeze of lemon juice. We also had the zucchini blossom..the sauce that they put was so delicious and it complimented the arugula as well as the other toppings. My husband had the salmon over spinach, the flavor was astonishing it had pistachios on top and the crunch with the salmon was just amazing, the short ribs was so tender and the sauce with it delicious! I mean it was just mouth watering flavors in my mouth. Tiramisu was made to perfection along with the limoncello so moist and great portion of the bitter and sweet to it. Great experience for restaurant week and great food.
Amazing service from our server. He was like a ninja, singing Italian melodies, if you look away and back at your table, there is exactly what you ordered. The food is very typical Italian faire with the standard flair. Nothing to write home about, but nothing to pass on either. Even when it's cold, the outdoor heaters and cozy home style food kept me nice and toasty.
Pretty solid spot in gaslamp for italian food! My friends and I came here for nye dinner. We made reservations which was the right call for our party of 10. Their complimentary bread is so good! I also recommend their pastas and skipping the fried calamari. My favorite pastas were short rib ravioli, lasagna and penne.
I was on a bit of a ravioli kick in San Diego so finding the spot was great. Fresh made pasta that taste delicious and some of the best pesto cream I've ever had. Will definitely go back when I return to San Diego!
